In July 2017, Ahmedabad in Gujarat was declared India’s first UNESCO World Heritage City so later in the same year, I spent a few days taking a look around.

Every year, during November's full moon, the Sonepur Mela takes place where the Ganges and Gandak rivers meet. The mela is many things; a religious festival, Asia's largest livestock market and a vast funfair. Hundreds of thousands of visitors and traders from all over India travel to the fair which lasts around a month.
